The Myopia Horse Show in Hamilton, MA celebrated its 100th anniversary and sidesaddle riders turned out to enjoy the beautiful grounds, relaxed pace, and classic appeal of formal hunt classes.

New in 2000 was a Sidesaddle Open Pleasure class to encourage western, saddle seat and gaited horses entries as well as informal turnout.

NEA presented a Sidesaddle Exhibition during Myopia Horse Show's 100th Anniversary "Old Fashioned Day" on August 26th. Members modeled 100 years of riding habits in honor of the occasion, while commentary explained the social and fashion traditions behind each outfit.

Spectators were shown how sidesaddle works for today's rider......

.....and any lingering doubts were dispelled by the finale's hunt rider galloping down the field and over fences.
