Christy Lenon

Christy Lenon was among several Hoosier Ladies Aside members attending the Red Bud Trail Rendezvous held at the Fulton County Museum in Rochester, IN. Visitors and fellow re-enactors alike were intrigued with their sidesaddles, and they were happy to share information with all.

Virginia Meers

Virginia Meers of Ontario, Canada, is shown in an 1830's period habit from Black Creek Pioneer Village. She writes, "I enjoy the feel and am right at home in the sidesaddle--my performance horse was quick to learn and we were able to work on a a wonderful dressage pattern for two public performances this year complete with period music..."

Beth Richard

Our thoughts go out to Beth Richard of Lyons, NY, on the loss of her TB, Catch the Dragon.  Beth had rescued Dragon from serious neglect, not knowing that he was Bold Ruler/Bull Lea bred, had raced successfully and then evented out of Michael Plumb's stable. Mr. D's sidesaddle career included clinics, demos, showing and his favorite--fox hunting.

Carolyn Penna

Carolyn Penna of Belford, NJ and Beckett's Creek Star Honda braved Scottish-type rain and wind to ride in the NYC Tartan Day Parade.  Carolyn's habit is based on a 19th century picture and she was authentic in every detail, including her own MacNaughton family tartan.

Barb Leeson

Look, Mom--no reins! Barb Leeson of Jarvis, Ontario tried mounted archery aside at the Sandheide Farm Clinic and hit her target evey time. The host farm specializes in Renaissance mounted games, but hunt seat, western and dressage were also well represented in their 2-day sidesaddle clinic.

The 2nd Annual Sandheide Clinic is scheduled for May 2007 at their Simcoe, Ontario location.
