Western apron replaces chaps as protection for the legs. It may be the standard buttoned style or have chap-back waistband, to be worn with belt under loops.

The Western apron may be plain or have Western styling, in heavy fabric, leather or suede. It may be ankle length or 2"- 4" above the ankle, but must hang level and completely cover the right foot.

Fashions in Western showing are subject to frequent change. Competitors in these classes are advised to check division or breed rules for other attire requirements.
